Hailing from Oklahoma fresh off a tour with Bon Iver, meet Other Lives, as they were at the Media Club on Friday night.  A tightly knit sound that, though it conjures the sense of being on an arid planet with a likeness to Death Valley, also stays liquid and quenching for the ears & soul.  Many dark wild horses could be tamed by the heavy mood and rampant meaning that the lyrics imply.  They played a solid show to a packed crowd, swaying intimately under the low ceilings of the Media Club – setting out on tour soon with Radiohead, I’m sure their music will be embraced as it was on Friday wherever they go!
