Off to enjoy the woodsy music of Plants & Animals, Bonehoof and Sun Wizard at Bamberton’s Rock of the Woods this weekend, thanks to CBC Radio 3.

The weather is blue sky with a nice, dry heat.  Really looking forward to a day full of music tomorrow, then starting the Juan de Fuca Trail on Sunday.  Clean air, here we come!

Ioannis Fokas, a Greek maritime pilot in the service of the king of Spain (1602), died on this western rocky coastline.  The Spaniards butchered the shit out of his name, but called the strait after him, which was nice I guess.  A bit spooky that he might still be hanging around Mystic Beach, probably combing the sands for feet that come awash on the shore in-shoe, and bottle caps.
